Nancy Jordan

Nancy JordanNancy Jordan is a part-time teacher and QES Club leader at SewVac Ltd. She cannot remember a time she wasn’t sewing. She designed and sewed doll clothes on her little black crank Singer.  She then progressed to sewing her own clothes on her mother’s Singer 401, eventually buying her own while at Cal Poly. There, she received a B.S. in English and had a brief minor in Home Economics. Nancy continued with garment sewing, making clothes for her girls until they preferred ready to wear. Quilting became her outlet in the late 70s. She worked briefly for Stretch and Sew until a lifelong dream of teaching children became a reality in the 80’s. She spent the next 25 years in Long Beach, Compton, and LAUSD until retiring in 2009 to become a full-time quilter and embroiderer with her Bernina 830.
