Leni Herman

Sewing since she was five years old, to say Leni has an addiction is not even close!  With a passion for sewing, especially machine embroidery, she always wanted to teach. Her dream came true, by combining over fifty years of love of sewing with her love of teaching.

While growing up, Leni made all her clothes. Her mother would give her money to buy fabric, and as soon as she finished one garment she could get more (she was a quick sewer).  That worked for Leni, but perhaps not so well for Mom! Her middle-school graduation present was a sewing machine. When her children were born, she made all their clothes. It was at this time she discovered an embroidery machine and that started her addiction to machine embroidery. With and embroidery machine, she discovered she could take care of children, keep the house clean, do laundry, and sew at the same time! Since she’d learned to love multitasking, she told her husband she needed another machine so she could be sew while that wonderful BERNINA 180 machine was embroidering. That started her addiction to many machines. She is also a proud owner of a Handi Quilter Quilting machine and quilts her own quilts. Oh, and she is also a middle school secretary to support this sewing habit!
